Three charged in armed robbery

GLOVERSVILLE — Three people face felony charges in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night at a Third Avenue home.

Vittorio T. Barnett, 18, of 44 Third St.; Kye K. Shelton, 18, of 224 Snoffer School Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland; and Trey P. Feldle, 20, of 474 County Highway 102, were each charged with first-degree robbery, a class B felony, and criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony, by city police on Sunday around 9:20 p.m.

The three subjects were taken into custody by patrol officers following the investigation into an armed robbery that occurred earlier that night at 75 Third Ave. around 7:30 p.m., a police press release stated.

During the robbery, police allege that the three subjects entered the Third Avenue home and threatened the resident with a handgun, stealing money before leaving.

Officers say the trio later contacted the victim again that night, demanding jewelry and more money. When the victim failed to respond, the accused suspects returned to the residence.

The victim notified city police that the subjects had returned after previously alerting officers to the robbery. Patrol units already looking for the suspects then located their vehicle near North Main and Spring streets.

Officers stopped the vehicle and while investigating found a .40 caliber handgun, a handgun magazine, ammunition, brass knuckles and money.

The victim was reportedly familiar with two of the suspects, Barnett and Shelton. Police say the third subject with whom the victim was unfamiliar, Feldle, is an active duty U.S. Marine.

All three subjects were processed and arraigned in City Court where they were remanded to the custody of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. Bail was set at $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

According to officials at Fulton County Correctional Facility, Barnett and Feldle were released on Monday, while Shelton remained in custody as of Thursday.
