Man charged with waving knife

GLOVERSVILLE — Nathaniel A. Beekman, 25, of 13.5 Fourth Ave., was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, by city police on Friday at 11:56 a.m.

Officers were dispatched to South Main Street and Washington Street for the report of a male threatening people with a knife. Once on the scene, police located Beekman who matched the description given by the caller.

Investigation revealed to officers that Beekman was the male threatening people with a knife, which he was subsequently found to be in possession of.

Beekman was taken into custody and transported to the station where he was processed and held for arraignment.
