County wraps email drive

JOHNSTOWN — Fulton County’s informational e-newsletter campaign begun last summer is winding down, the Fulton County Industrial Development Agency learned Tuesday.

IDA Executive Director James Mraz updated the agency’s board of directors about the e-newsletter campaign at the IDA’s annual meeting at the Fort Johnstown Annex.

“The fifth one went out in December,” he said. “The last one will hopefully go out this month.”

The first e-newsletter was sent out by the county in August.

Mraz noted Shannon Rose of Saratoga Springs is administering and managing this e-newsletter campaign for Fulton County. Six newsletters are being e-mailed to 425 builders, developers and investors advising them of investment opportunities available now in the county. The goal is to attract private investment into Fulton County.

Each newsletter had a different theme, including a general introduction, available properties and adaptive reuse, and about the Tryon Technology Park.

In other annual meeting business, the board appointed Gloversville’s West & Company to serve as the IDA’s auditor for 2018 and to authorize the chairman to execute an agreement with the firm to audit the firm’s 2017 financial statements at a fee of $8,750. The company will also provide payroll services for $500.

The board voted to retain the law firm of Fitzgerald, Morris, Baker, Firth, PC to serve as IDA counsel in 2018 and provide both general legal services and legal services for the Tryon Technology Park. The firm will be paid a not-to-exceed fee of $8,000. Funds are included in IDA’s 2018 budget.

The board voted to retain Carol Ellis to serve as the chief financial officer and to perform financial services for the IDA in 2018 for a total fee of $2,000. Funds are included in the IDA’s 2018 budget.
