Turning Stone trip slated for Jan. 15

GLOVERSVILLE — The following are the meetings for the Ida L. McGinnis Club.

Dec. 4: The meeting was opened by Vice President Kate VanAlstyne.

The opening hymn was “Good Christian men, Rejoice” accompanied by Helen Henry on the keyboard. “The Lord’s Prayer” and the Pledge of Allegiance were led by VanAlstyne.

The first verse of “America” was followed by a moment of silence in remembrance of President George H.W. Bush.

Hi to Neighbors took place. There were 33 members in attendance.

The reports of the secretary and treasurer were read and accepted.

Sunshine report: Christmas cards are being sent to members in hospitals, rehab, nursing homes and shut-ins.

The 50-50 winners were Carol Lowery, Linda Zilka and new member Margaret Dillenbeck.

The meeting adjourned.

The closing song was “Silent Night.”

The refreshments were served and bingo was played.

Tuesday: The Christmas party was celebrated at a local restaurant.

The blessing was led by Mary King.

The table decorations were by Van Alstyne, Carol Lowery and Sandy Yacobucci.

The 50-50 winners were Mary Jane VanSlyke, Audrey Flint, Ann Witherell, Judy Copper, Jerene Atty, Millie Garguilo, Etta Williams and Dorothy Roy.

The entertainment was provided by the Betty Green Chorus.
