Special birthday party on Sept. 18
FONDA — The Glen-Mohawk Seniors had their meeting on Tuesday. The daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaugthers of member Addie Forsey, provided the entertainment. They have formed a singing and dancing group that goes around to entertain at senior groups and nursing homes. They opened their ’50s and ’60s show with “Coat of Many Colors” and continued on with many songs from the ’50s and ’60s era and ended with several patriotic songs.
There were 23 in attendance.
A sympathy card was sent to the family of past member, Mary Ripley, who passed away on Aug. 15, at the age of 96.
At the Tuesday, meeting, a collection will be taken up for the Fonda-Fultonville Central School backpack program.
There will be a special birthday party on Sept. 18, for the newest nonagenarian (refers to an individual who is between 90 and 99 years old).
Plans are being made for the October installation of officers. Information was given out on the Nov. 19, day trip to the Log Cabin, Holyoke, Mass. There will be a luncheon at the Log Cabin and an afternoon of music with The Ozark Jubilee. The entrees will be chicken piccata and Yankee pot roast. The non-member price is $57. The next meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Fonda Reformed Church with a coffee hour preceding the meeting. The group is open to all seniors 55 years of age and older.
