Historical society to meet on Tuesday
EDINBURG — The Edinburg Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Edinburg Cemetery, Northville-Edinburg Road, for a tour led by Priscilla Edwards, Edinburg Historian. There will be a brief meeting at the Edinburg Cemetery where the nominating committee will present their recommendations for the 2018-19 board positions to be voted on at the September meeting. Those attending can bring a chair. All meetings are free and open to the public, according to a news release.
Edwards, the historian since 1986, contributes articles to the Edinburg Newsletter each month and helps people research their ancestors, the news release stated.
The society continues to raise funds for the restoration and maintenance of the Copeland Historic Site which is comprised of the Copeland Covered Bridge and Carriage Shop. Those who make a donation of $25 will purchase a share certificate for themselves, as a gift in honor or in memory of a loved one. Send a request to the Edinburg Historical Society, P.O.
