Caroga Fire Company fundraising for station

CAROGA — The Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Company is diligently fundraising to build a new fire station. The old station was built in the 1950s, and the department has outgrown the building. Equipment no longer fits inside and all training and equipment maintenance have to be done outside — weather permitting.

The fire company’s auxiliary raised $18,400 through various events and will be presenting a check to the fire company on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the site of the new fire station in Caroga Lake at 3262 Route 29A.
