Charland receives degree, awards
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Ryan Charland of Amsterdam, was awarded a bachelor’s degree during the recent commencement ceremonies at Providence College and was recently honored for his academic achievements as a biology major and English minor.
Charland was the recipient of the Robert I. Krasner Award, which is awarded to a biology student who best exemplifies Dr. Krasner’s commitment to teaching and leadership inside and outside of the classroom. He also received the Joseph P. Cassidy, O.P. and Class of 1948 Award for Excellent Research in Moral Philosophy.
Charland graduated with summa cum laude distinction and was a member of the Liberal Arts Honors Program. He was also a peer tutor for the Office of Academic Services. He is a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta (Pre-Health Honors Society) and Sigma Tau Delta (International English Honor Society).
After graduation, Charland will be pursuing an master of fine arts in television, radio, and film at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Communications.
