Annual holiday open house this weekend
MAYFIELD — The Mayfield Historical Society will have its 26th annual Christmas open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday at the Rice Homestead, 328 Riceville Road.
Visitors will step back in time for an old-fashioned Christmas with hot mulled cider and cookies, music in the Victorian Parlor, seasonal decorations, a homemade pie sale, tours of the home, weaving demonstrations by Eileen Wrightsman in the Loom Room, and more. The Digital Video Disc, “Harnessing Nature: Building the Great Sacandaga” will also be on sale at the event.
The musical entertainment from 1 to 3 p.m. today will be the Harry, Larry and Norm trio and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday will be Fleur de Lys.
