Fugitive from justice arrested

GLOVERSVILLE — City police have assisted with the apprehension of a fugitive wanted in western New York, according to a news release sent out Wednesday.

Officers say they took Christopher S. Beard, 44, of 37 West St. on eight felony warrants, including one for first-degree burglary.

Police said that on Wednesday they assisted the U.S. Marshall Service in the arrest of wanted fugitive Christopher S. Beard. Beard was wanted by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office on numerous felony level offenses, including first-degree burglary.

After being taken into custody, Beard was secured by the U.S. Marshall Service and transported to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
