SPCA Bowl-a-thon set for Sunday
AMSTERDAM — The 2019 annual Montgomery County SPCA Bowl-A-Thon for the Animals has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 10, at Kelly’s Imperial Lanes on Wallins Corners Road in Amsterdam.
The event directly benefits the homeless animals at the Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ shelter.
Registration will begin at the lanes promptly at 10:30 a.m., with bowling from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The $12 per bowler registration fee includes two games of bowling and rental shoes.
Donation sheets will be available on the organization’s website, www.mc-spca.org, on Facebook and at the animal shelter. A grand prize will be awarded to the bowler collecting the highest amount of donations. All donations collected by bowlers are due at the time of Bowl-A-Thon registration.
Basket raffle prizes will be available to win. Also, information about the MCSPCA’s programs and its adoptable pets will also be available, including an appearance by one of the MCSPCA’s adoptable furry friends.
As refreshments are available for purchase at the bowling alley, bowlers are reminded that no outside food or drink is allowed inside.
This annual fundraiser benefits the programs and animal shelter facility of the Montgomery County SPCA, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of homeless, neglected, abandoned and abused animals in the Montgomery County area. The MCSPCA is funded primarily by public donations and municipal contracts, and appreciates public support of events such as the annual MCSPCA Bowl-A-Thon.
The MCSPCA Animal Shelter, located on SPCA Road off Route 5S, just east of Amsterdam, is open Mondays and Wednesdays through Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. It is closed Sundays and Tuesdays.
