Gloversville winter parking rules
GLOVERSVILLE — The city police department is reminding city residents of the upcoming seasonal rules, according to a news release.
∫ The overnight parking ban for winter months on all city streets will go into effect Nov. 30. It will run until March 31, 2019. Residents are reminded that all street parking is prohibited from the hours of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. during this time period.
∫ No person can operate a snowplow within the city without first obtaining a permit from the city clerk. The snowplow fee is $25. In such situations where a person operates a snowplow to remove snow from their own property, a snowplow permit is not required.
∫ It is unlawful for any person to throw, deposit, permit or cause to be thrown or deposited, upon the sidewalks, terraces of the city any snow or ice which has fallen or accumulated on the private property side of the sidewalk line or in those locations where, by ordinance, a building line has been established on the private property side of such building line.
∫ It is unlawful for any person to throw or deposit or to permit or cause to be thrown or deposited any snow or ice which has fallen or accumulated on the sidewalks and terraces nearer the center of the street than the outer of the ridge caused or erected by the operations of the Department of Public Works in the plowing of snow.
