Soroptimist International art show kicks off Thursday

GLOVERSVILLE — Soroptimist International of Fulton and Montgomery Counties has scheduled an art exhibit, “Best of Women” at the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce Art Gallery at 2 N. Main St. during the month of October.

There will be a Meet the Artists reception for the show on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the gallery. The art show and reception are free and open to the public.

The reception will feature light hors d’ouevres and conversation with the show’s featured artists: Amy Andujar (Mayfield, digital prints); Liz Argotsinger (Gloversville, paintings); Brittany Chatterton (Gloversville, photography); Kate Ehle (Johnstown, digital prints); Linda Finch (Northville, paintings); Alexandra Higgins (Mayfield, paintings); Jade Judson (Johnstown, paintings); Erin Kelly (Johnstown, photography and prints); Sandy Kicinski (Gloversville, drawing/paintings); Sierra Luck (Mayfield, paintings/drawings); Tammy Merendo (Amsterdam, pottery); Madalyn Miller (Johnstown, painting/drawing); Linda Naske (Johnstown, drawings); Sandra Peters (Gloversville, photography/poetry); Maria Simone (Caroga Lake, paintings); Patsy Suydam (Johnstown, photography); and Ann Thane (Amsterdam, drawings).

In addition, members of Soroptimist International of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, a women’s organization of business and professional women dedicated to the improving the lives of women and girls, will be in attendance to talk about the organization and how to become a member.
