Conyne completes training

Conyne

Navy Chief Petty Officer James S. Conyne, son of Charlotte Conyne and the late William “Bill” Conyne Jr of Mayfield, recently completed Recruit Division Commander C School in Great Lakes Illinois, earning his Red Rope as a recruit division commander insignia at Recruit Training Command “Boot Camp Great Lakes.”

He has taken on an arduous, special programs duty that only the top 10 percent of the Navy qualifies for. Over the next three years, he will train and only send the best basically trained recruits to the Navy fleet. Conyne resides in Illinois with his wife, Merlinda, and pet, dachshund Lucas.
