Auspelmyer elected secretary of the national bar foundation
CHICAGO – New York Bar Foundation executive Deborah Auspelmyer of Amsterdam was elected secretary of the National Conference of Bar Foundations its recent annual meeting in Chicago.
“Having our foundation executive involved in the leadership of NCBF will support our goals of enhancing public understanding of the law and the important role that lawyers play in society, and underscoring the need for broad-based participation in civic life,” said New York Bar Foundation board president Lesley Rosenthal.
“The entire TNYBF board of directors extends our congratulations and thanks to Deborah Auspelmyer.”
Auspelmyer has managed the New York Bar Foundation since 2012 after serving as president of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce for nearly a decade. Besides being involved in the foundation, she is a member of Women in Development Northeastern New York and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
The New York Bar Foundation, a non-profit organization, is the charitable arm of the New York State Bar Association, the nation’s largest voluntary bar association.
Through its grant program, the foundation supports the law-related programs of local legal services agencies, nonprofits, bar associations and other organizations throughout the state. This year the foundation awarded more than $700,000 in grants. Over the past few years, the foundation has been recognized for governance and its philanthropic efforts.
Auspelmyer lives in Amsterdam with her husband and two children.
