Assemblyman Marc Butler to host third annual veterans picnic

JOHNSTOWN — Assemblyman Marc Butler 118 (R-Newport) will be hosting the third annual picnic from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 15, at the Pine Tree Rifle Club, 419 Johnson Ave. The event is open to all area past and active veterans and a guest of their choice, according to a news release.

Butler’s office is partnering with the Pine Tree Rifle Club. The day will include a speaker, Fulton County Undersheriff Dan Izzo, a former Navy Seal; music, a song selection by Mayfield student Cameron Allen; games, and food, the news release stated.

Butler stated “It is my pleasure to recognize and honor all veterans, past and present. We must never forget it is through their service and sacrifice that we have the many freedoms we enjoy,” the news release stated.

This event is offered to each veteran and one guest at no cost. Reservations are required and space is limited. To reserve a place, contact the assemblyman’s office at (518) 762-1427 or e-mail a reservation request to dmacvean@gmail.com, the news release stated.
