FCAA releases details of recent agency-wide audit

GLOVERSVILLE — Fulmont Community Action Agency, Inc. has announced the results of its recent agency-wide audit.

According to a news release from the agency, as a federally-funded grantee, Fulmont is required to obtain an in-depth audit on an annual basis. This year’s audit took place over several days in early December 2017.

At Fulmont’s Board of Directors meeting held on February 5, 2018, Mark Perez and Robert Mohring, CPAs, of EFPR Group, LLP presented the results of the audit. Mr. Perez indicated an unmodified audit with no findings, that is a “clean audit”. In addition, there were no recommendations. Fulmont has had a “clean audit” for many consecutive years.

“Receiving the highest audit opinion possible reflects the agency’s commitment to excellence in financial management,” said Fulmont CFO Patrick Martin, CPA. said in the release “Our services have helped thousands of local residents, and continued confidence in our financial operations will enable Fulmont to continue to promote self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life for many in our communities.”

Fulmont Executive Director Denis E. Wilson, Sr., said of the audit, “I’d like to recognize the efforts of CFO Patrick Martin and the fiscal staff, as well as all other management staff, for helping us to achieve this status. This is proof of our excellent financial position, and it highlights the strength of our agency and gives confidence to our funding sources and donors, both current and potential.”

Fulmont Board Chairperson Mark Ford said, “Fulmont undergoes numerous reviews every year, and in every case, the agency comes through with flying colors. The results of this audit were no exception. After the auditors shared their findings with the Board, a Board member remarked that a totally clean audit with no findings and no recommendations was cause to celebrate. That pretty much says it all. The executive staff and our employees are to be commended on the results of this audit.”
