ALBANY– The University at Albany congratulates more than 140 students who have received the dean’s letter of commendation for the Fall 2017 semester. Students who receive this commendation earned at least a 3.5 GPA in 6 graduation credits this semester.

ALFRED — Three area students have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Alfred State University for grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher.

They are Connor Pingatore of Amsterdam, a health sciences major; Cassandra Ryan of Gloversville, a mechanical engineering tech major (4.0); and Ariel Rauch of Mayfield, a coding and reimbursement specialist major.

Emerson College

BOSTON — Lauren Corcuera of Amsterdam, majoring in design/technology, has been named to the Emerson College fall semester dean’s list with a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher.

Buffalo State

BUFFALO — Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher who have completed at least 12 credit hours qualify for the dean’s list at Buffalo State. We are pleased to recognize the following students who attained this honor in the Fall 2017 semester.

Emily Cromie of Gloversville was named to the Castleton University fall president’s list for a grade-point average of 4.0.

Cazenovia College

CAZENOVIA, — More than 200 students were named to the Fall 2017 dean’s list at Cazenovia College. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve a 3.5 or better grade point average. The following local students made the list:

He is a senior in the financial services bachelor’s degree program.

Coastal Carolina

University

CONWAY, S.C. — Jacob Petrie, of Johnstown, a management major, has made the president’s list at Coastal Carolina University for the Fall 2017 semester. To qualify for the president’s list for high academic achievement, students must earn a 4.0 grade point average and must be enrolled full time.

Anthony Ponticello of Gloversville, a physical education major, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at the Coastal Carolina University. To qualify for the dean’s list, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.

SUNY Cortland

CORTLAND — Lindsay Therrien, the daughter of Mark and Christine Therrien of Johnstown, was named to the dean’s list at SUNY Cortland for the fall 2017 semester.

Therrien, a 2014 graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School, is majoring in therapeutic recreation. She is an intern at the Syracuse VA Hospital, Onondaga County, for the spring semester.

SUNY College of

Technology at Delhi

DELHI — The following students have been cited for academic achievement for the Fall 2017 semester by achieving the dean’s list at the State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must have an academic average of 3.50 or higher within the semester.

Nichols College

DUDLEY, Mass. — Anna Heroth, a Human Resource Management major from Johnstown, has achieved dean’s high honors for the fall 2017 semester at Nichols College in Dudley, Mass.

The Nichols College dean’s list recognizes students who have achieved high grades during a single semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.2 for at least 12 credit-hours and receive no grade below a C+ during the semester. A student who earns a grade point average of 3.6 or higher is awarded dean’s high honors.

Grove City College

GROVE CITY, Pa. — Jordan Ahlquist, a sophomore major at Grove City College, has been named to the dean’s list with high distinction for the Fall 2017 semester. Jordan is a 2016 graduate of Mekeel Christian Academy and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ahlquist (Candy) from West Charlton.

Students eligible for the dean’s list have a GPA of 3.40 to 3.59; for the dean’s list with distinction a GPA of 3.60 to 3.84 and for the dean’s list with high distinction a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Cornell University

ITHACA — Ashley DaBiere has been placed on the dean’s list at Cornell University, College of Arts & Sciences for the Fall 2017 Semester. She has been recognized for this by earning a GPA of 3.92. Ashley is a Junior majoring in Biology/Pre-Med. She is the daughter of Tony and Connie DaBiere of Tribes Hill.

Ithaca College

NORTHVILLE — Village resident Michael J. Darling, a sophomore majoring in graphic design, has been named to the fall president’s list at the State University at Oswego for a grade-point average of 3.8 or higher.

POTSDAM — Area students have been named to the fall semester president’s and dean’s lists at the State University at Potsdam.

Four students on the president’s list with grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher are Dominick Altieri of Johnstown, majoring in sociology; Meredith Galea of Gloversville, majoring in childhood/early childhood education; Matthew Schlicht of Sprakers, majoring in musical studies; and Andie Van Wormer of Broadalbin.

Three students were named to the dean’s list with grade-point averages between 3.25 and 3.49.

They are Jaclyn Bartell and Daniel Ryan, both of Northville, both majoring in business administration, and Jacob LaBate of Amsterdam, majoring in music education.

Springfield College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Springfield College Recognizes dean’s list Students for the 2017 Fall Semester.

Springfield College has named Kayla Bogdan of Amsterdam to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the fall 2017 term. Bogdan is studying Health Science/Occupational Therapy.

Springfield College has named Joseph Salatel of Johnstown to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the fall 2017 term. Salatel is studying Athletic Training.

Criteria for selection to the dean’s list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.

Russell Sage College

TROY — Abby-Kathryn McFarland of Gloversville has been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Russell Sage College for a grade-point average of at least 3.5.

Utica College

UTICA — Kiernan Briggs, the son of Lynn and David Briggs of Fort Plain, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester at Utica College, Oneida County. Briggs, a 2015 graduate of Fort Plain High School, is a junior majoring in risk management and insurance with a mathematics minor.
