Students raise $3,000 for Ronald McDonald House
FONDA — Fonda-Fultonville Elementary and Middle School students have raised nearly $3,000 to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Albany while becoming better readers.
This fall, Fonda-Fultonville participated in the Read for Ronald McDonald House program. Children tracked their reading minutes and asked family and friends to sponsor their reading.
“Thank you all for coming together to support an organization that helps so many children and families during a very difficult time,” elementary school Principal Darcy Williams said. “This initiative not only supported our goal of increasing students’ independent reading time, but it also supported our character education program. Our students really rose to the occasion.”
“I’m very proud of our students for working so hard to benefit an important community organization like the Ronald McDonald House,” middle school Principal David Zadoorian said. “Our students have exhibited incredible character, and they are better readers and writers for it.”
Students recently received certificates and prizes to celebrate their reading achievements and their contributions to Ronald McDonald House.
