FORT PLAIN — Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties and Fort Plain Reformed Church will host an Opioid Awareness and Prevention Summit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the church, 165 Canal St.
The day will start off with a special agent from the Drug Enforcement Administration speaking about the relationship between heroin/fentanyl and prescription drugs: What they are, how the problem escalated and the different forms of the drug. Following this will be a presentation on what to look for in a teenager’s bedroom.
The afternoon will consist of stories from a person who has lost a loved one to the epidemic, as well as professionals from the recovery field and a person in recovery.
Lunch will be provided.
