Mayfield set to host winter carnival
MAYFIELD — The Mayfield community winter carnival will take place Feb. 10, on the Mayfield Lake on Pump House Road (located off Woodside Avenue).
The following is the scheduled events.
∫ From 8 a.m. to noon, there will be a youth fishing contest for up to age 15 with a parent. Registration will take place at Fuel & Food, Route 30.
∫ Festivities are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. to include: broom ball, ice skating, football toss, ice golf, kids hockey puck game, football toss game and ice bowling and more.
∫ From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., children and adult frying pan contest. The winners will be announced at 1 p.m. Winners do not have to be present to receive a prize.
∫ At noon, fishing contest ends and winners will be announced.
∫ At 12:15 p.m., kids cardboard box derby — up to age 12. The box must be made out of cardboard and can use glue, duct tape, paint, etc. Absolutely no sled may be attached to the box. Prizes for most original, most creative and travelling the farthest will be awarded.
