Hochul to cut ribbon at Sunflower Shoppe

JOHNSTOWN – On Monday, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, will cut the ribbon to officially open The Sunflower Shoppe’s new location at 26 W. Main St. in Johnstown.

The Sunflower Shoppe is a community outreach project of The Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association.

“Women helping women with their career clothing needs” is the mission of The Sunflower Shoppe, an all-volunteer operation.

The Sunflower Shoppe accepts gently used career clothing, as well as jeans, to assist women returning to the workforce from any circumstance with clothing for interviews, as well as launching their careers.

The Sunflower Shoppe is also the seasonal home of Elizabeth and Eileen’s Prom Dress Closet. Another community outreach project of the ECSHA, almost new prom dresses can be rented for $30 or purchased or $50. Elizabeth and Eileen’s Closet is open February through May right at The Sunflower Shoppe.

In addition to having a new location, The Sunflower Shoppe also has new hours: Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
