Ethan Blood is Knox spelling bee winner
JOHNSTOWN — Seventh-grader Ethan Blood, son of Jennifer Blood of Johnstown and Ronald Blood of Gloversville, recently won the Knox spelling bee and will represent Knox at the 36th annual Capital Region Spelling Bee.
The regional spelling bee will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 13, at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady. All participants are in grades four to eight.
The champion of the regional spelling bee will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in June 2018
The format of the spelling bee will include written spelling and vocabulary testing, in addition to oral spelling.
In case Blood is unable to attend the regional event, alternate Natalie Flint, daughter of Laurie Glynn of Johnstown, will represent Knox.
