Braemer book signing set

JOHNSTOWN — The Rev. Wally Braemer, a city native and graduate of Johnstown High School, will hold a signing of his book “A Mother’s Son” and offer his latest CD, “Last Will and Testament,” from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday and 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Mysteries on Main Street.

For many years he led and directed  several bands, including the Lightning Bros, which had a East Coast hit, “Crazy Jane.”  Another group, Star Street, was band that came from the Northeast. “I Wanna Take You Home” was released on Eclipse Records and was included on the PYX 106 FM all-star album.

He also recorded and worked and produced in many studios in the United States, including Bearsville Studios in Woodstock along with Orleans, Todd Rundgren and Utopia, Journey and Patty Smith, and Nashville’s Wax Work’s Studio which featured Roy Clark, Tom Paxton, Kenny Rogers and Loretta Lynn.  Also he worked at Paul Leka’s Connecticut Studio featuring Harry Chapin, Foghat, the Isley Bros. and Stevie Wonder.

On his solo releases, Braemer, writes his own songs, plays the instruments and orchestration and vocals. and features guitarists he grew up with.
