Chamber music series set to continue
GLOVERSVILLE — The Business Improvement District, Community Music and the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce continue their 2017-18 chamber music at the chamber series with “Music for the Imagination,” scheduled for Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. in the Chamber’s Rotunda Art Gallery.
Artists in this concert will perform works that are a feast for the imagination. Featuring Camille Saint-Saens “Carnival of the Animals” transcribed for wind quintet with special guests reading the works of Ogden Nash that often accompany this piece. Also on the program, Astor Piazzolla’s “Libertango, “Anton Liadov’s “Russian Folk Dances” and works by Ralph Raymond Hays.
The program will feature Community Music faculty, Kelly Jo Lockwood, Oboe and Joshua Thompson, horn, as well as Ann Bottisti, flute, Alexander Kollias, clarinet and Kristen Powell, bassoon.
The chamber music at the chamber series is partnering with local restaurants to encourage people to eat locally, especially on this Small Business Saturday. For this concert, ticket holders are invited to have dinner after the show at Kingsboro Golf Club/Double Eagle Restaurant where specials will be offered to those who redeem their concert tickets that night.
