Twin Cities Council of Churches plan for holiday
GLOVERSVILLE — The Twin Cities Council of Churches is making final plans for the free Thanksgiving dinner from the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville.
Take-outs and deliveries will be available Thanksgiving morning.
The church is in need of people willing to donate and/or bake turkeys and pies for the event. Volunteers are also needed on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, as well as Thanksgiving morning.
Some of the jobs that need doing are cooking and cutting up turkeys and pies on Wednesday.
On Thanksgiving morning help is needed early in the kitchen, on the food line and delivery drivers. Anyone willing to help with the clean-up would be greatly appreciated, according to a news release.
The free dinner may not happen if not enough people volunteer, the release stated.
“This is a chance for the area to come together as a community and to show that we care about each other,” said organizer Marilyn Muzzi in the release.
To help with the project, call Muzzi at (518) 762-9201 before Nov.13.
To make monetary donations make checks payable to Twin Cities Council of Churches, c/o Marilyn Samperi, 704 S. William. St. Johnstown, NY 12095.
