AMSTERDAM — ATV racer Wayne Wnuk of Amsterdam presented a check for $1,000 to The Foundation of St. Mary’s Healthcare in January, to support the organization’s cancer screening program.
The St. Mary’s cancer screening program of Fulton, Montgomery and Schenectady counties provides breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings at no cost to women and men who have no health insurance, have health insurance that does not cover the screenings, and for those who meet income, age and residency requirements.
Wnuk, who races throughout New York state during the summer and fall months, is known in ATV racing circles for his pink racing suit, and for his motto of “Racing For A Cure.” Wnuk’s wife, Doreen, is a breast cancer survivor. Wnuk has been paying forward his collected donations to support breast cancer organizations for more than 15 years.
