Bill Ackerbauer releases new album ‘Discovery’

Local musician Bill Ackerbauer, pictured at left, has released a new album of original songs. The eight-track EP, titled "Discovery," was released Feb. 3 on the online independent music platform Bandcamp.com, which donated all of that day's sales proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union in support of free speech and other civil rights. Ackerbauer, a former longtime editor and writer with The Leader-Herald, now works in human services as his main occupation but also teaches guitar and violin lessons at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts. He performs music both as a solo artist and with two regional bands, Junk Rocket and The Doghouse Carpenters.
