Local woman charged in check-forging case

GLOVERSVILLE – State troopers reported they charged a woman who allegedly was forging another person’s name and cashing checks from a closed account.

Troopers said Hannah Sinisi, 25, of Gloversville, was charged Friday with three counts of second-degree forgery, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny. Police said she cashed checks in Gloversville, the town of Johnstown and the city of Johnstown. She wrote multiple checks totaling more than $3,000, forging the endorsement of another person and cashing them, police said.

Sinisi was arraigned in Johnstown Town Court and released on $2,500 unsecured bail. She is scheduled to appear in all three municipal courts.
