Knowles to speak at Bleecker society meeting

BLEECKER – G. David Knowles will be the speaker at the July meeting of the Bleecker Historical Society on Monday at 6:45 p.m. at Town Hall at 575 County Highway 112.

Knowles will speak about the subject, “What does my property Deed Mean?”

Knowles is a native of Bleecker and has been a licensed professional engineer and land surveyor in New York state since 1971. He has completed several property line surveys in Bleecker in the past.

The discussion will include definition and explanation of some of the common terms found in property deeds, discussion of the history of land grants in New York, a review of the procedure for surveying of large tracts of land, and a demonstration of the equipment commonly used in surveying property.

Time will be allowed for questions and answers. The program follows a short business meeting.

The public is welcome.
