Program on stress slated at HealthLink
JOHNSTOWN – HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, announced a monthly series of programs will be offered throughout the year on “Managing Stress: A Healthy Alternative To Letting Stress Manage You.”
“Stress is a fact of life. Every day we are faced with a multitude of situations which produce stress. Small, controllable amounts of stress can actually improve your performance,” said Wendy Chirieleison, Littauer’s community health educator, in a news release. “But, unmanaged stress can hurt you. It can interfere with your ability to do well in your work, it can have a detrimental effect on your personal relationships and it can damage your health. Learning to manage stress will help you lead a happier, healthier, more productive life.”
January’s topic is Stress 101 and will be offered Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will learn how stress affects both physical and mental health, and how to identify the causes of stress in their own life, the release said.
These free programs are open to the general public and will be held at the wellness center, 2 Colonial Court. To attend either session or for a schedule of monthly topics, call HealthLink Littauer at 736-1120.
