Chamber offers new program for regional businesses

Are you the leader of a team? Are you preparing yourself to lead a team as part of your career development? Are you an employer who would like to cultivate employees to be future leaders — in the workplace and/or in the community?

The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy is designed to build leadership effectiveness for new and emerging leaders. Powered by Collaborative Dynamics and Facilitator Micah Schrom, this program is energizing, highly collaborative, and provides participants with tangible learning that can be applied at work and to your life.

The Chamber’s Leadership Academy is ideal for new and emerging leaders as well as those who are preparing to enter a leadership role. This program is designed to provide foundational learning which is reinforced through one-on-one coaching to help participants put principles into action.

This 8-week program covers:

Session 1: Understanding your Leadership Style, Jan. 12 – Hill & Markes, Amsterdam

Session 2: Managing your Human Resources, Jan. 26 – Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home, Gloversville

Session 3: Motivation, Feb. 9 – Fulton County Board of Supervisors Room, Fulton County Office Building, Johnstown

Session 4: Performance Management, Feb. 23 – Alpin Haus, Amsterdam

Session 5: Communication, March 9 – HFM BOCES, Johnstown

Session 6: Delegation, March 23 – Beech-Nut Nutrition Corp., Amsterdam

Session 7: Crafting Strategy, April 6 – Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, Gloversville

Session 8: Leading Change, April 20 – Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Johnstown

Also Included:

— Everything DiSC Management Assessment and accompanying 27-page report (a behavioral  assessment that helps teams and leaders better understand different styles, how to interact with each other, motivate each other, and how to get results together)

— Six 1-hour  1:1 leadership coaching sessions that will take place at the workplace post-Academy

— Printed course materials

— Light food and beverages during training sessions

 

Cost, time & location

— $1,499 for Chamber member businesses and their employees/$1,699 for future member businesses and their employees

— Friday classes: 1/12, 1/26, 2/9, 2/23, 3/9, 3/23, 4/6, 4/20

— 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (last hour will be reserved for company tour and guest speakers)

— Each session is hosted at a different area business
