April 24 mystery trip sign up available

FONDA — The Glen-Mohawk Seniors regular weekly meeting of Tuesday was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by President Joe Mancini with 29 members present. The opening prayer, given by Chaplain Allan Taylor, was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” with Barbara Furman at the piano.

Phyllis Smith, sunshine secretary, along with Sandra O’Dockerty praised the Fonda-Fultonville Central School Drama Club and orchestra for their performance of “Cinderella.”

The signups are still being taken for the mystery trip on April 24, and the Maine Coastal tour of Sept. 9 to 13. For information and reservations, contact Lula Wilmot at (518) 853-3906. The members will take part in the Fonda-Fultonville Memorial Day parade again this year. An in-house luncheon is being planned for April 23, and Peggy LaBarge is taking reservations. The price is $5.50.

Mary Fox conducted the prize drawings and the winners were Nancy Moore and Jim Douglass.

The meeting adjourned. Taylor gave the closing prayer.

Several stayed for bingo with LaBarge calling. The refreshments were compliments of D. Dorine Dimond, Delores Dumar Lois and Ron Collins.

The next meeting will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Fonda Reformed Church hall. The doors open at 9 a.m. for refreshments and socializing. The Glen-Mohawk is open to seniors who have reached the age of 55 or over.
