Weekly activities for Senior Center

GLOVERSVILLE — The following is for the Senior Citizen Service Center of Gloversville and Fulton County, 53 Church St.

Today: 50-55 Plus Club meeting and activities, 1 p.m.

Tuesday: Painting the dining hall — anyone interested in helping paint the dining hall is to come to the center by 9 a.m. — wear painting clothes and bring a paint brush if able; Tuesday Breakfast Program and coffee hour — $3 donation (participant’s choice), 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday: Coffee hour, 9:30 a.m.; Wednesday Noontime Vittles Program — $3 donation (stuffed peppers with meat and rice, tossed salad, fruit, Italian bread, ice cream), noon.

Thursday: Coffee hour, 9:30 a.m.; free bread pass out, 10 a.m.

Friday: Coffee hour, 9:30 a.m.; Writers Circle author luncheon, 11 a.m. David Pietrusza, the visiting author, has written the series “1920 the Year of the six Presidents.” Pietrusza will discuss the work with a question and answer period plus book signing to follow. A light lunch of pizza, tossed salad, fruit and homemade dessert will be served at noon for a donation of $5 per person. Reservations will be appreciated. Lunch is payable at the door.

Saturday: Breakfast Nook Program — $3 donation (raisin cinnamon French toast, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, 9 a.m.

The center needs the following.

∫ The center needs volunteers for office, planning events, activities and helping in the kitchen with meals. All ages are welcome. Anyone interested in volunteering for a few hours a day, week or month can stop by or call the center for further details.

∫ The food pantry is low and the center seeks new non-perishable food items for area seniors.
