Shirley Luck plans Capital Region trips
JOHNSTOWN — The following upcoming events are for the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 E. Main St.
The center is sponsoring trips as follows: Nov. 27, to Colonie Center for some early Christmas shopping and a meal at The Golden Corral; Dec. 2, to Proctors for “The Nutcracker” with a stop at the Blue Ribbon Diner on the way home; May 5, 2019, to Proctors for “The Phantom of the Opera.” If interested, stop by or contact the center at (518) 762-4643 for more information and to sign up.
∫ Aug. 21: From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. blood pressure free clinic with Julie Passero; at 1 p.m. bingo with refreshments and prizes.
Hosted by the 50 Plus Club:
∫ Aug. 23: “Harnessing Nature” a film and presentation on the making of the Sacandaga Reservoir by Lauren Roberts.
∫ Aug. 30: Cold plate luncheon served by the Office for the Aging. The cost for is $3. Call the center for reservations.
The American Association of Retired Persons defensive driving course are from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the senior center are as follows: Sept. 29; Oct. 19; and Nov. 14. Pre-registration is required by calling or stopping at the center.
