Broadalbin seniors plan 2019 trips
BROADALBIN — The Broadalbin Senior Citizens met on Wednesday, at the First Presbyterian Church with 43 members present. Everyone welcomed two new members. The prayer was offered by Chaplain Marsha Prokop and June Zea led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
After lunch the meeting was called to order by President Toni Hallenbeck. Zea, vice president, did the roll call. Linda Gray read the secretary’s report and read three thank you notes to the group. Jennifer Gilston gave the treasures’s report.
The August birthdays were read by Marilyn Quinn and the group sang “Happy Birthday.”
Sunshine committee: Charlotte Santo reported she sent out three get well cards and a thinking of you card.
Summer picnic committee: Phyllis Kulska reported the summer picnic had food, music and dancing.
Trip committee: Hallenbeck reported some upcoming trips.
Donations were collected for the Broadalbin Ecumenical Church Food Pantry.
The 50-50 winner was Joe Gilston.
The group celebrated an un-birthday party. The make-your-own-sundaes were provided by Stewarts. The group had a birthday gift auction to raise money for the Christmas party.
The next meeting will be Aug. 22, at the First Presbyterian Church.
The trip committee announced the following trips.
March 22 to April 1, 2019: Ultimate Caribbean with Celebrity Cruises on the Celebrity Reflection. The stops will include St. John’s, Antigua, Bridgetown, Barbados, Castries, St. Lucia, Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis and Phillipsburg, St Maarten.
Nov. 2 to 11, 2019: Sicilia featuring Palermo, Siracusa and Taormina.
