Anniversary dinner slated for April 27

MAYFIELD — The Bannertown 50 Plus Seniors opened the Office for the Aging luncheon on March 28, with Chaplain Carl Edwards reading the devotion, “Like a bright light, you are there to light the way.” “The Lord’s Prayer” followed.

After President Bob Leach opened the meeting, Becky White from the OFA discussed Medicare Part B and an annual Wellness visit that is being done by a physician annually. Either the cost will be free or co-pay for certain circumstances.

Linda LaVada did the roll call.

Ann Mallin had sent out one card.

Lorrie Valk, secretary and Joan Bezio, treasurer, gave their reports and were accepted.

Lorrie Valk mentioned that there is a partial information sheet out for this year’s day trips. All of the trips have not been finalized and everyone will be notified when all of the information is in.

The next meeting on April 11, will be the potluck luncheon with the Lassellsville Seniors. Nancy Hayes and Evie Leach will be doing dessert.

The bus for the April 10, trip will be leaving by 8:30 a.m. from the Mayfield church parking lot.

Janet Betler told everyone that the Rada Knives fundraiser netted $234.

Deb Finkle will be at the next meeting to discuss fire safety with smoke detectors in the home.

The anniversary dinner is planned for 1 p.m. April 27, at the Winner’s Circle restaurant, Fonda. Everyone needs to pay by April 11.

The meeting adjourned and drawings were held. The winners were Hayes, the door prize; Judy Berger, the 50-50; and Bob Leach, $1, who donated it back.

Bingo was played.
