Perth Seniors plan Halloween party
PERTH — The Perth Seniors meeting was called to order by President Grace Bevington-Eglin at 11:10 a.m. Oct. 10.
Chaplain Dottie Richeson read a poem, “The Little Things That Count” and then led the group in “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Hello to your Neighbor took place. There were 30 in attendance.
The 50-50 was won by Charlene Bartman.
Vice President Anita Bush read the names of the October birthdays.
Mary Staknik gave the treasurer’s report and it was accepted.
Wanda Crobies gave the kitchen report.
Special events: Audrey Flint and Ginny Stahl stated the Halloween party will be Nov. 1. Cupcakes, cider and sandwiches will be served. Come dressed in costume — prizes will be awarded.
Correspondence: The Nathan Littauer Hospital HealthLink activities for October-November and a thank you note from Frances Weidemann were received.
Announcements: Bush stated every month there is a movie for seniors for $3 along with popcorn and soda at the Emerald Movie Theatre, Amsterdam.
Old business: The revisions of the bylaws were passed out to the members.
New business: Bush, brought in a bulletin board.
Lynn Lasher, election chairman, read the slate of officers for 2017-2018, to be voted on Nov. 8, for president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
Peter Betz, liaison, gave the assessors and town board reports. He ended with some jokes.
The next meeting is Oct. 25.
