Richard and Linda Bumpus of Gloversville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 24, at Lanzi’s on the Lake with over 100 family and friends attending.
The couple married on June 24, 1967, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto, Oswego County, by Father Raymond Wood.
The wedding party attendees were Adele-Hyla Brewster from Jacksonville, S.C.; Diane Edwards from Fairview, Penn.; Dr. John Bumpus from Cedar Falls, Iowa; Capt. Charles (Terry) Bohlinger (retired) from Tabb. Va; and the Rev. Dr. James Doster from Longview, Texas. Other family and friends came from Akron, Erie County, Fabius, Onondaga County, and Fulton, Oswego County; North Carolina and Kentucky.
The couple renewed their wedding vows with Pastor L. David Almleaf.
Linda Bumpus sang “One Hand, One Heart” to her husband, accompanied by Alex Hitrick on keyboard and “Sunrise, Sunset” to her daughter, Heidi Ropeter and son, Scott Bumpus. Helping with the celebration were their son Scott and spouse Lori Bumpus; daughter, Heidi Ropeter; and grandchildren, Ryan, Kaylee and Dylan Bumpus and Zachary Ropeter.
