Celebrating 72 years of marriage
Milton and Virginia Jaquay Wager of Meco, recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary at the Concordia Club. The guests were from the surrounding areas with a surprise visit from Ron Cozzolino and wife Patti, their grandson; and Derek and Adam, great-grandsons, whom they hadn’t seen in 12 years. There were over 100 friends and relatives at the event. Lee and Cathy Bradt provided the music.
The couple married on March 31, 1945, in Meco, at the home of Harry and Gertrude Wager, parents of the bridegroom. The attendants were Paul Jaquay, twin brother of the bride; and Joyce Wager, sister of the bridegroom. The couple went to the family camp in Benson for their wedding trip.
Together they raised five children, Dawne Wager Tiano, Linda Wager Cozzolino, Milton Wager Jr., Claude Wager and Gertrude Wager Podschelne. They have nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two on the way, and one great-great-granddaughter.
They reside in the home they built in 1945.
