Couple celebrates 60th anniversary

Norman and Doris Clo of Gloversville recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a week-long stay in Rhode Island with their extended family.

They met as freshmen at Ithaca College and were married on Sept. 4, 1954, at Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury, Pa. They moved to Gloversville in 1958, where they have lived, worked and raised their family.

The family has now grown to include: Lisa Clo McLellan, her husband John and their children Sarah (Sam) and Michael (Ashley); Cynthia Clo and her daughter Victoria; and John Clo, his wife Lynette and their children Noah J. and Evelyn.

Couple celebrates 60th anniversary

Roland J. and Margaret Post of Fonda recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at their home.

They had a picnic luncheon prepared by the Saltsman’s Hotel Restaurant with their children and spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all shared stories and memories.

The couple married Aug. 28, 1954, in Fonda.

Couple celebrates 60th anniversary

Gloria A. (Lakata) and George E. Bevington Sr. of Johnstown recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The dinner was hosted by their children at the home of their son, George Bevington Jr. of Johnstown.

The couple married June 7, 1954, at St. Patrick’s Church, Johnstown. The Rev. Edward Sheedy officiated. Jack McGuire was the best man and Barbara Schwed was the maid of honor.

The couple met at the Acme Market, where they were both employed. Later, George Bevington delived milk for Mohawk Dairy and Gloria Bevington kept books for various businesses.

They have four children, Glory (Bevington) Ray, George Bevington Jr., Susan Bevington and Barbara (Bevington) Fiengo; grandsons, Luke and Kyle Davis, Derrick, Jared and Travis Bevington; and great-grandchildren, Harper Davis, Grayson and Jocelyn Bevington.
