Couple celebrates 50th anniversary

Harry and Betty Jean Buyce of Northville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 16 at the Timeless Tavern. The event was hosted by their sons, Stan Buyce of Broadalbin and Brad Buyce of New Jersey.

There were approximately 50 guests who attended, including three members of their wedding party and the couple’s four grandchildren, Glenn, Sam, Zach and Lena Buyce.

The couple was married Aug. 15, 1964, at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church.

Couple celebrates 50th anniversary

Larry and Marilyn Poitras of Johnstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 1 with a surprise party held at Lanzi’s on the Lake, hosted by their children and their families.

Their sons are Larry (Monica) Poitras Jr. of Johnstown; Don (Margaret) Poitras of Spotsylvania, Va.; Steve Poitras of New Castle, Del.; and John (Jennifer) Poitras of Sparks Glencoe, Md.; and grandchildren, Tanner, Ben, Juliana, Elijah, Lily, Thatcher, Mac and Preston. Also in attendance was Margaret McGrady, the mother of Marilyn Poitras.

Their anniversary was also celebrated with a cruise to Canada and Northeast ports aboard the Queen Mary 2.

The couple married Aug. 1, 1964, at St. Peter’s Church, Stillwater, Saratoga County. The Rev. Charles Gaffigan and the Rev. John Keefe officiated.

Couple celebrates 50th anniversary

Raymond and Beulah (Dimick) Simpson of Edinburg were the guests of their 50th anniversary surprise party on May 31 at the home of John and Paula Frasier in Edinburg. The hostess was Judy Sinnott. The party was attended by sisters, brothers and cousins.

The couple married on May 30, 1964, in the Edinburg Baptist Chapel. The Rev. J.W. Franks officiated.

They have two sons, Christopher and Thomas Simpson.
