GLOVERSVILLE -- At its January annual meeting, The Glove Theatre Board of Directors elected its new Executive Board, which now consists of President, Kathleen Perrott, Vice President, Sharon P. Poling, and Treasurer, Christopher Ihasz.

Former Board President James Hannahs was present at the meeting, stating, “While stepping down as Board President is bittersweet, I find solace in the newly elected Executive Board and their collective passion and skills for The Glove,” according to a press release.

Hannahs was instrumental in guiding The Glove Theatre towards its $1.993M award as part of the New York Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant and an additional $2M grant through New York States’ Restore New York Communities Initiative, as well as launching several cornerstone programs that led to The Glove’s current momentum.

“This new leadership team will advance The Glove to new heights,” continued Hannahs, the release said, “and I have the utmost respect for Kathleen, Sharon, Chris, as well as the rest of the Board and Staff.” Hannahs said, according to the release, that “…The Glove is in good hands and will continue to be a beacon for artistic and economic development opportunities in Fulton County,” as is part of The Glove Theatre’s ongoing mission.

Perrott, moved to this area seven years ago and immediately became a fan of The Glove. Perrott received an MBA in Industrial Psychology from Baruch College and BS in Psychology/Business from Sacred Heart University, and is no stranger to supporting nonprofits and community organizations, having served on the Peck’s Lake Protective Association Board of Directors as both member and president. She is an avid supporter of the Caroga Arts Collective, leading its silent auction fundraiser event during their 2023 gala season. Perrott is an executive compensation consultant at Aon, where she manages a team of consultants. Perrott champions and sponsors several cornerstone series at The Glove, including The Love the Glove Film Series, Glove Summer Academy, and the newly announced 518 Concert Series.

Poling, a lifelong educator with an MS in Education, is a senior member of The Glove Theatre Board of Directors, having served for eight years, and the chair of The Glove’s Volunteer Committee, in addition to her duties as vice president. Poling worked for over 30 years at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, receiving the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service Award and the title of Professor Emeritus upon her retirement. Poling now serves on the Gloversville Enlarged School District Board of Education as vice president. She is a lifelong Gloversvillian with a deep connection to and love for The Glove Theatre, according to a release.

Poling was instrumental in the launch of the Glove’s yearly Free Family-Friendly Movie Matinée series, and is a supporter and champion of family-centric programming at The Glove, including the Summer Academy and yearly Kids Mainstage Show.

Ihasz holds an MBA and MS in Project Management from Southern New Hampshire University, and has a rich history in theatre, having directed a well-received production of Paula Vogel’s “The Baltimore Waltz” during his career at Colby-Sawyer College, as well having acted, designed sets and lights, and acting as master electrician on several productions. He is a recent transplant to Gloversville, having moved most recently from New Hampshire, where he worked with the New Hampshire Writer’s Project, helping to organize and mount the annual 603 Writers’ Conference, and the Majestic Theater. Ihasz is a director, client management for a major financial institution, and has worked in and studied program management and analytical chemistry. Ihasz began his career at The Glove as a technical volunteer, doing lighting design for “Looking For the Little Mouse,” “Antigone,” and myriad concerts and one-off performances. He continues to advise on productions and acts as chair of the Marketing Committee. Ihasz is also an accomplished dungeon master for the popular tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons.
