ALBANY — A Virginia man linked to a conspiracy to rob Johnstown bank pleaded guilty in the case Tuesday, federal prosecutors said.

Brian Tierney, 30, of Lynchburg, Va., admitted to conspiring to commit bank robbery, prosecutors said.

He admitted that between Nov. 14 and Nov. 27, 2022, he agreed to and planned the robbery with two co-conspirators, Michael Brown, Jr., and Luke Kenna, prosecutors said.

Kenna, 44, of Gloversville, conducted surveillance of the bank and purchased items, including weapons for the robbery, prosecutors said. Tierney ordered handgun parts for use in the robbery and sent photos of a handgun and radio scanning and jamming device for use in robbing the bank, prosecutors said.

Brown pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bank robbery last June. Kenna pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bank robbery and possession of a firearm as a prohibited person in August. Kenna and Brown are both scheduled to be sentenced on June 14.

Tierney is to be sentenced in August and faces a maximum term of five years, prosecutors said.
